Final Weekend of "Crimes of the Heart" at 2nd Space Theater | Arts & Culture

The Good Company Players production of "Crimes of the Heart" plays it's final weekend February 16-19 at 2nd Space Theatre.

Here's what the company has to say about the show:

Warm-hearted, irreverent and brilliantly imaginative, this play teems with humanity and humor as it examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions.

The scene is Hazlehurst, Mississippi, where the three Magrath sisters have gathered to await news of the family patriarch, their grandfather, who is living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny (ELIZABETH FIESTER), the oldest sister, is unmarried at thirty-seven and facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg (BRITT DOWNS), the middle sister, who quickly outgrew Hazlehurst, is back after a failed singing career on the West Coast; while Babe (DANIELLE JORN**), the youngest, is out on bail after having shot her husband in the stomach. Their troubles, grave and yet somehow hilarious, are highlighted by their priggish cousin, Chick (LAURA TROMBORG), by one of Meg’s past flames (RICK TIMMONS) and by the awkward young lawyer (RAUL REYES) who tries to keep Babe out of jail while helpless not to fall in love with her.

Directed by GCP veteran DENISE GRAZIANI, Crimes of the Heart will run at Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre until February 19.  Rated PG-13.
